on artemis fowl and a 56k connection
i just finished artemis fowl… the first book that is. the start kinda dragged for me. maybe that’s why i never finished the book before. good thing that this time around, i psyched myself to go through it. it kinda picked up for me in chapter 4, or during that time of the kidnapping. then the book sustained itself to the end. i love the ending. ingenious! now to get my hand on the arctic incident. i now can’t wait to read book three of it since everyone i know who read it loved it from all the three books.
while waiting for that… i’m slaving over my 56k connection… at home… just to satisfy my bleach hunger. my last chapter was the toriyama scans and that was sooo long ago. then connection at work closed ports to bittorent and mirc so i’m limited to http downloads. ;_; and when i checked back to the bleach chapters again, they’re on chapter 110+!!! that’s like a 60+ chapter backlog! and so now, instead of reading bleach continuously, i have to wait for at least 15 minutes to download a 4Mb chapter. ooooohhhh, the painnnnn!!! well, at least now, i’m halfway there with only 30+ chapters remaining…. and counting.

on books, books and more books
been reading some of my stocked-up to-reads lately. finally finished reading dan brown’s da vinci code and before that his angels & demons. great reads really. but what i didn’t like about those two books is that they’re similar! if he continues the pattern with the third book, it would be easy to tell who the culprit is. there are still good twist and turns plus the numerous facts he presents are really interesting, things that’ll make you think about and ponder. on DVC, i love it’s cryptograms and codes. while on A&D, i love the ambigrams plus the chase around Rome and the ticking time bomb. between the two though, i think i liked A&D better. i liked the interaction better between Langdon & Vittoria than Langdon & Sophie. plus i find A&D’s plot more exciting than DVC, more ups and downs. but, still… yeah, read both books. my next dan brown book will be digital fortress, one my friend lends me his copy.
in the meantime, reading the first book of artemis fowl. it’s been with me for months but only now that i’m reading it. so far so good. oh yeah… since i’m on the subject of children’s read, i also finished the field guide from the spiderwick chronicles. it’s a very light read (actually finished this one in an hour or two tops) but it’s a cute read. nothing fancy. i’m trying to get my hands on the second book and hope it’ll be as good as the first unlike the third book of ASOUE which went downhill for me. i’ll try to read the fourth one since i have that one plus book 5 of ASOUE to finish.
yeah.. too many books to read. short time to finish.

finished the layout after 1 hour and 15 minutes of tinkering. :| the product of boredom. ishida and ichigo *points way below for ichigo* from bleach. another simple layout from yours truly. just forget the fact that i can’t really do intricate layouts coz of my laziness, k? *nods*
anyway, it’s already monday and in a couple of hours i have to go to work. another day at work, eh? *shrugs* lately, work’s really getting on my nerves and i don’t know the reason for that. but at least the vacation i had last week kinda helped, even if only a lil bit. anyway, enough of work. or else i’ll just be ranting the whole time…
i’m uploading some of the old pics i’ve taken with my not-so-old-not-so-new digicam. these were really taken a long time ago. i think early this year if i’m not mistaken. anyway, it’s when i’m still trying to work the features out. i have this love-hate relationship with that camera. it’s a point and click one but i can’t seem to get the focus right. hence, the terrible focus on the two flower pics below. i’ll try to upload newer pics when i get the time to shoot something.

btw, for those asking if i liked HP:POA: yeah, i love it. it still doesn’t compare to the book (no HP movie actually compared to it’s book counterpart) especially since it mutilated the storyline. there were several subplots that were removed, several plots altered, and several important explanations left out and unanswered. but even with that it’s still a good movie. i actually liked this one better than the first two since it has a faster pacing plus the three main characters have developed their acting skills. i didn’t like the fact though that they removed wood. ;_; where’s my last peek at wood, warners!!! it’s his last year and i didn’t get to see him anymore!!! *cries* anyway, for those who have watched the movie, read movies in 15 minutes of that one. absolutely hilarious. anyway, at HP:GOF i’ll be looking forward to krum and diggory. there’s a diggory at the POA (the one that got hit by lightning at the only quidditch game) but he’s not the one portraying at GOF (coz this one’s the guy and here’s cho chang). by the way, anyone knows of any picture of stanislav yanevski (the one portraying krum)? i can’t seem to find one of him.
now to go focus on some other stuff…
