someone at the tenimyu community shared the side yamabuki musical so was able to download and watch it. this is the first myu with the new cast, a much younger one than the original. since i am a pretty big fan of the original cast, i was pretty apprehensive watching this myu. i’m still glad that i did because this new cast is adorable in their own way. ^_^ of course nothing as close to the original cast since original cast is love… but yeah. they’re good. and the more times i watch it, the more i appreciate them. watched it twice already and cast is growing on me.

Shirota Yuu/Tezuka: he can sing. that i give him. problem is have you ever seen Tez do a Sanada backhand?! because i specifically saw Shirota almost give Kaji!Momo one when Kaji!Momo was doing his number.

Kaji Masaki/Momo-chan: he’s too cute for a Momo. and too feminine. he almost pulled it off. almost. but still, nothing beats MoriEiji’s Momo-chan. and dang, there are times and angles that when you look at him, he really looks like a girl. XD oh i absolutely adore this boy’s number. he was rolling about the floor and jumping up and down but still can sing his lines clearly. makes me think if the number was a pre-recorded one or not. but still totally loved the number. energetic fun! he’s not really a good singer, but not a bad one too. ^^;;

Araki Hirofumi/Inui: one of the good castings in this batch (though really, not as good as Sota). he really lacks the height though. as for singing… didn’t he only sing in that fuji x ryoma fight? anyway, that’s the only thing i remembered. and from what i heard there, he sings fine.

Kotani Yoshikazu/Kawamura: absolutely adorable kawamura. XD he’s so darn cute. he lacked in the burning kawamura mode which was perfected by Abe. but you just have to forgive him since he’s cute. XDDD but then during the closing curtain bows, he really really did a good burning kawamura one. would like to see more of him.

Aiba Hiroki/Fuji: like Kaji!Momo, he almost pulled it off. i love his higuma otoshi move. would have love to see him do the tsubame gaeshi (can’t remember if he really did it) and compare it to how gay good kimeru does it. oh but he does the cross legs great. XD one thing not fuji-esque, the time that he grabbed the racket out of taka-san’s hand… he looked angry there. as far as i know, fuji never ever got angry at taka. ever. that’s why there’s such hidden taka-fuji love in the manga and anime. because fuji secretly loves taka.

Kujirai Kousuke/Kaidou: he just didn’t stick to my mind. the only time he had stage presence was during the Momo/Kaidou vs Sushi/Dane flashback. while all of the seigaku and seiru did the duck pose, he had his racket sticking out of his ass as a duck tail and it was hilariously adorable. he was kinda adorable in the backstage though when he was playing with his kaidou hair and also when he was being questioned by kotani! XD but one thing i find off with him was that he wasn’t as initially scary as Naoyan’s Kaidou. and he lacks Naoyan’s perfect legs. XDDDD

Adachi Osamu/Eiji: there was something lacking in him. he’s cute in a sorta Eiji-esque way but… i don’t know. maybe the fact that he’s just too innocent and childlike makes me like him less. oh and i just find him waaaaay too thin. but then maybe i’m comparing him too much to Nagayan who I absolutely and truly love (aside from Tuti that is). i know for one that he didn’t do too much acrobatics like both Nagayan and Ichi. i don’t know… Even Ichi is better as Eiji than him. but then I also like Ichi. argh. i know i’ll like him as i watch the myu over and over again. but initial reaction is that: not the Eiji for me (… well, because Nagayan is the absolutely best Eiji ever).

Suzuki Hiroki/Oishi: really, he scared me during my first watching of the myu. is it his facial expression? or maybe those eyes. but then like in the case of Nagayan and Eiji, i totally adore Tuti in the role of Oishi. no… not adore. but i absolutely LOVE Tuti. ^^; and so for me, anyone casted as Oishi wouldn’t be the same. yes, i kinda got used to Hiroki!Oishi’s facial expressions and eyes. and i admit that during their bows, his dorkiness made him sorta adorable… but he isn’t Oishi. ^^; sorry Hiroki. same with Adachi, i might like him over time though. let’s see.

and so, with that said about Hiroki and Adachi, the new!GoldenPair just didn’t live up to my expectations. they lacked chemistry which was soooo evident on stage between Tuti and Nagayan in Dream Live 1st. chemistry! chemistry! that’s one of the reasons why i love TutixNagayan as the Golden Pair. Both of them know that the Golden Pair has one of the biggest followings and they so play it up to fulfill every fangirl’s dreams. as for this new Golden Pair, they’re still too innocent. not too much tension between them. the Good Combination duet between them didn’t make me focus on them. instead I focused more on the Seiru pairs of BakazawaxKaneda and SushixDane. i even enjoyed the numbers of the Jimmie’s better than theirs. i just hope that they improve their chemistry over time. please please please please pleaaaase… because Golden Pair is love.

Now for the Yamabuki boys. Juri, who played Akutsu is just perfect. I mean, he looks, acts, talks, poses, sings, dances and moves like Akutsu. everything about him is just screaming Akutsu. so yeah, nothing else to say but perfect. Wada Masato/Sengoku is love. he’s adorable. sometimes though i don’t think that he looks like Sengoku but those are just a couple of times. one thing good about his Sengoku, when you close your eyes and just listen to him he sounds sooooo much like the anime!Sengoku. and his poses! It’s sooo screaming Sengoku! so yeah, love Wada in his role. now Kawakubo Yuuki/Taichi Dan. he’s cute. and he could act like Da-da-da-dan. My biggest gripe about him is that he’s tall. I mean, Dan is supposed to be short. oh and sometimes, his interaction with Juri!Akutsu lacks a spark that was so present in the anime and manga. well, that’s it for Kawakubo. other than those two, he’s okay as Dan because he’s just as adorable. next are the Jimmies!!!! Yazaki Hiroshi/Minami and Hayashi Iori/Higashikata! Yazaki is hot! ’nuff said. XD anyway, i absolutely adore the myu!Jimmies. their number is screaming crack cuteness!!! the song. the lyrics. the choreography!! <33333 Yanagizawa Takahiko/Muromachi, the almost non-existant role in both the anime and manga also has an almost non-existant role in the myu. too bad since he’s cute in the backstage.

i won’t go into the SeiRu boys since I watched them in More Than Limit, i absolutely love them. too bad that Shiozawa/Mizuki wasn’t in this one because if ever he was in it, he might have made me love overlook the shortcomings i found in the new cast. could i just point out that Shinoda/Dane is even hotter here than in MTL? ^^ and that i love Aoki Kenji/Akazawa’s dorkiness. <333 XDD wait... *checks past posts* i haven't raved about MTL yet. might do that next time.

overall, i still pretty liked it even if i had some qualms about the new cast. they’ll definitely grow on me, that’s one thing i think i’m sure since that’s what happened with the original cast. the numbers were cute. where would you see Horio wearing a pink apron and still look adorable and schmexay?! where would you see the Jimmies finally getting their share of the spotlight? definitely this musical is fun and love.

oh, yeah. i was waiting for something like you got game at the end of the musical. at least something of an encore like what kimeru did for the last musicals. but then it occured to me, no one in the new cast can sing like kimeru. TT____TT i’m soooo gonna miss the old cast. maybe they can do a reunion musical where the old cast would come back. ^O^ i’ll definitely fly to japan for that.
