on the Chronicles of Narnia: TL, TW, & TWSuch a long title… But such a great movie. Watched The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe last Saturday night/Sunday morning for the advanced screening. Funny thing is before that… around 10 minutes before the showing, I just finished the book. We were like in the coffee shop one floor below the movie house, me breezing through about a hundred pages or more in around two hours or less. Yes, I’m a slow reader but there were a lot of distractions namely fireworks at the middle of Greenhills Shopping Center, the chocolate drink I was having and the churros we were supposed to be enjoying. Julie lent me her copy of the book months ago in preparation for the movie. Procrastinating me, of course, just has to put off reading till the last minute. Go me! At least I finished it in time. It was my first time reading it. And it was actually good. I was hearing a lot about it even before since there were musicals, cartoons and I think even a couple or so of TV specials or was it mini-movies. But yeah, I’m glad in my 26 years of being alive so far, I was finally able to read it.
As for the movie, it was great. A really close adaptation of the book, actually. Better adaptation than Harry Potter for sure. But then it’s only a short book (even though it took me months to read XD) for the movie to not include the major plot points. One thing I absolutely adored about it though is Tilda Swinton. I love her in her role as Gabriel in Constantine. And with the White Witch she climbed another notch higher in my list. She was absolutely great. She stood elegantly and yet you could just feel the coldness oozing out of her. Plus she can really move with a sword. Oh, and her dwarf, Ginarrbrik, kinda reminded me of Deep Roy, the Oompa Loompa from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I have no Idea why and maybe it was just me. *shrugs* And lastly, can I just say that William Moseley, Peter in the movie, give him a year or two and he’ll definitely be hot. He reminded me of somewhat a cross between Josh Hartnett and Heath Ledger. So yeah, I’ll definitely be looking forward to him in the coming years. I really hope that he continues his acting career. So far, there’s nothing more listed in his IMDB profile. (;_;)

Didn’t this do well in the box office? Now I’m wondering if the rumors are true. That if it did well, they’ll try to do all the other books. Aren’t there six more? Wow that’s a feat that’ll rival Harry Potter. Doing seven movies. I don’t know where I heard it. But who knows, it might be or might not be true. *shrugs*
