J.R. Ward's Lover EnshrinedLover Enshrined is the sixth book in J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood Series. I’ve been a fan of the series since I started reading it two years ago. My most favorite book are the first three books. So when I saw this in our local bookstore a couple of weeks back, I was surprised since I know that it’s release date should be June 3 and immediately grabbed it. The fifth book in the series, Lover Unbound, was a disappointment for me even if Vishous is one of my most favorite Brothers. I just didn’t like how Ward ended his story. On the other hand, Phury might be the least Brother that I liked but I found Lover Enshrined better than it’s predecessor.

If I remember correctly, I haven’t read a book that tackles the problem of drug addiction on a major character, a reason why I like Ward because she would write about that, masochism, sadism, rape, and gay relationships without any qualms. So, Phury is a drug addict who is in love with his brother’s shellan/partner and also has a big responsibility towards the vampire race by being the stud horse to a group of chosen females. The heroine, Cormia, is one of those chosen females. Actually, she’s supposed to be the first one to mate with said stud. But she didn’t volunteer to the role, she was sorta forced into it. The book mostly tackles the addiction of Phury, Cormia’s experiences while she is in this world, Phury trying to resist Cormia, Cormia misunderstanding Phury’s reactions, Phury getting even more high, the break-up, the patching up, the reform. Intertwined with that are the back stories of the secondary characters and the events and going-ons with the Brotherhood’s enemies.

I think, one of the reasons why I love this book was because of those secondary characters and their back story. We get to see some action and character development in Qhuinn, Blay and John and I’m really looking forward to what Ward has in store for them. I love the relationship between these three. Qhuinn in particular jumped really high in my character standing because of this one. Also, now that they have found Tohr, I wonder when will his story be told? Will it John be next? I read somewhere that it’s supposed to be Rhev, but I can’t picture him with anyone else in the story. Maybe Layla or Selena since they’re all living in Rhev’s camp. *shrugs*

The book is 500+ pages thick and it took me forever to finish it since I’m a slow reader. But after finishing this book, I could say that I like it. A lot. Not as good as Dark Lover and Lover Awakened though. But I’m glad that the ending tied the questions I have formed when I read Lover Unbound. And it gave me closure about the hero and heroine’s relationship.

Just a warning. The gang talk’s still in this book. And sometimes I get lost because of it. But really, no biggie.

P.S. Sorry for the long rambling sentences. And the jumbled and non-coherent thoughts. I’m tired. x_x;

Hi vero! :) Thanks for dropping by. Phury isn’t also my fave brother, but Butch ranks a bit higher than him in my list though.

You might like LE, if not for the romance between Phury and Cormia, maybe for the stories of the secondary characters.

Hi! i love the Brotherhood Series especially Zsadist’s maybe because he was described to be the least attractive and i’ve always routed for the underdogs. haha..
I like phury but i have my doubts with Cormia, she doesnt seem as tough and character rounded as Bella, Beth or the others. But that doesnt stop me from wanting to read her story anyway..
Nevertheless it’s going to be weeks perhaps months before LE gets here where i am. *Sigh*
