Just got back from watching Iron Man. And could I just say that it was absolutely awesome. This is such a great start for summer 2008 movies. I hope that the succeeding movies don’t disappoint.

I’m not really a fan of the franchise. I only faintly remember of his animated series because of seeing two Iron Man, one orange/red and one blue, who was really War Machine and that’s the only thing that I remember from it. But when I saw the news about this one last year, me being a superhero film fan, I was pretty excited.

I would love to see Robert Downey again since the things that stick out of my memory of him are his jail record and his movie Hearts & Souls, the movie where I had a huge crush on him. Yeah, I know he was in Zodiac and tons more but I have a long to-be-watched list and I know that a couple of his movies are in it. And after seeing this, I’m so glad that he was the one doing Tony Stark and not some burly actor because, OMG, my huge crush on him is back. I couldn’t picture anyone who could pull of the snarky multi-billionaire playboy but him.

As for the movie itself, it was great, going into the story and action right from the start. The pace was pretty fast that I never felt bored while watching it. And it has a great mix of the funny and serious side to it. All in all, I would personally place this in my best superhero movies, though still not as great as Spider-man 2.

And if you’re watching this movie, do catch the end credits. There’s about a minute or two on a possible sequel/spin-off to it. The Avengers! And Samuel Jackson!!! And as of right now, I want that sequel/spin-off badly.
