Watched Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End last night. Absolutely love it. For me it's the best 2007 summer movie. Even better than Spider-man 3 and Shrek the Third. Maybe because I'm biased and I'm a Pirates fan, but I don't care since I really absolutely love it. I could rewatch it over and over again and never get tired of it. And it'll definitely be in my DVD-to-buy list. Well, seriously, if you want to understand what the heck the characters are saying, then you really have to repeat it. XD I mean, throughout the movie, even though I enjoyed it, it was pretty hard deciphering 80% of what they were saying. Tee hee hee. So, yeah, I'll definitely rewatch it.
It's definitely a Bruckheimer movie with all those explosions and great fight scenes and that adds to my love for the movie. But what definitely made me love the movie (and all the other Pirates movies for that matter) is of course Captain Jack Sparrow. Who wouldn't love that drunken swagger (though there really is less of that and his rum drinking in this one..), those expressive reactions, those quotable quotes ("That makes you a chartman!") and that witty brain that makes him Jack Sparrow! Actually, the first few scenes were just so-so for me. Not as exciting as when Sparrow's in the scene. XD
As for the other characters, even if they gave a big role to Elizabeth Swann, it didn't really made me love her more. I still preferred her in the first movie. I can't even remember what her role was in the second one except for the very last scene. As for Will Turner, I like him, but my love for him increased more when he turned pirate at the last few scenes and he was now commanding a ship. Barbossa and Davey Jones are definitely love for me even from the previous films. Who wouldn't love Geoffrey Rush and Bill Nighy's characters, anyway. What pretty much shook me was why did they have to kill Norrington. I love him as much as I love Will, Barbossa and Jones. But noooo, they just have to stab him. TT___TT
Plotwise, a lot of things are happening left and right. There's the East India Company, Davey Jones, Jack and Barbossa, and Swann and Turner. It could be confusing if you don't know how to follow what's currently happening, who's "betraying" who. But if you know how Jack's mind works (think of the "leverage" talk on the CotBP) it's pretty easy to grasp what's their plan.
Anyway, though they say that this might be the last Pirates movies, I don't want to believe that it is. Seriously, they could do so much more with what happened. I mean, technically, they haven't defeated Calypso yet so that could be their next plot. Plus, they could always try and rescue Will from his "curse" so he could live happily ever after with Elizabeth and Young Will. And there's Jack's quest for immortality and the Fountain of Youth. Plus he doesn't have the Black Pearl with him again. Though they did tie the loose ends they left at DMC, AWE's pretty much open ended too. So a fourth one in the franchise wouldn't be that bad. ^^,
As a last note, as with the previous two Pirates movies, watch till the credit ends. Because like the other two, there's less than a minute coda at the end involving Will, Elizabeth and their kid. Since the movie screening at the cinema where we watched finished at 1am, people just filed out of the theater not even bothering to finish the credits. I'm glad that I wasn't one of them :D So yeah, do finish the credits.
HOLY MOTHER F'CKIN SHIT! HOLY SHIT BOY! I peed in my pants when I watched that. Spider-man 3 exclusive first look. And they got
( Venom!!!!!!!! )
I was squeeing at my seat and my friend thought that I was going out of my mind. But heck, it's spider-man! S-P-I-D-E-R-M-A-N! Who doesn't squee over spider-man?! Even the dead should squee over spider-man!
But why did they have to show that fight with Harry! I mean, from start to finish! I'm hoping that that's not the only SpideyxHarry fight that I'll be seeing from the movie. But I have this gut feeling it is. *shrughs* There's still the Venom and the Sandman fights if ever. Now after watching that, I am soooooo counting the days til May 2! That's just 56 days away! *bites nails* I hope I could wait that long! >_<
Now when are they releasing the trailers for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End? That's also showing in May and I haven't seen a single clip on my major movie stalkage sites. O_o
On other news, Supernatural is eating me alive. Blame it on the those two brothers. Or mainly blame it on Dean. All my friends know that I'm a Dean/Jensen fangirl. And because of that: the eLJay! It's Dean! *swoons* The FL gateway also got a Dean overhaul but that was done more than a couple of weeks ago.
That's it for now. Have to cut it short since I'll be watching 300 in a while. I won't be saying that I'll be posting much since real life's bothering me right now. Have to find another job really because current job sucks so bad. But before that have to rehaul the resume a bit. Anyway, at least you know I'm still alive! ^_~
classes work! It's been a while since work was suspended. So yeah, let's see if I can accomplish something today.
Anyway, watched POTC for the second time yesternight with folks. Still love it. But now that I think about it, Captain You-Know-Who shouldn't have been a surprise since there really were dead giveaways during Jack's visit to Tia Dharma. The boots is one but then I didn't associate it with him. Then the monkey. Then the hat.
But enough of that. So before movies, there were trailers, right? And it was only yesternight that I saw the trailer for Step Up. Oh. My. God. Channing Tatum is hot. Two words why I love She's The Man? Channing. Tatum. And he's waaaay hotter this time around. Yumm.
But then I'm not fond of those dancing-type movies so I have no idea if I'm going to watch this one. The only movie I remember watching of this type is Centerstage and I really have no recollection of what happened in that one. XD
